New Year’s resolutions have become a convention. They’re a celebration of not only a new year, but also a time for target re-evaluation, setting or resetting guarantees made in years past.
Resolutions are available in many forms. When it’s vowing to change a bad habit, dedicating time and energy into starting a positive habit, or taking on a new challenge personally or professionally, many view New Year’s resolutions as a chance to start the next chapter in life.
As a university, a number of our objectives are centered on our pupils and helping them to succeed. We asked members of our social networking communities to discuss academic New Year’s resolutions for 2017 in an attempt to better understand what our students want to achieve this season.
Of the more than 1,000 responses we received, we found that the resolutions and goals of our network members concentrated on three topics:
- Enrolling in a brand new course or diploma program
- Finishing an academic career in a powerful manner
- Utilizing knowledge learned from a degree plan to make a positive impact within their communities
